James is Jess’s father and shares his story about parenting a teenager with mental health issues. He talks about his preconceived ideas about how to respond to suicidal thoughts and about the importance of not judging a child by their behaviour.  James and Anne found support by opening up to people about what was happening. He also discusses the support they needed after Jess passed away and the importance of talking. They went to counseling and they keep her in their lives. James has advice on how friends can help.
